The Agony of Blowdrying

Blow drying your hair is a pain…trust us, we get it! But let’s work smarter, not harder! Pre-drying your hair before you ever put a brush in it, or flip your head over and go crazy with the blow dryer, will 1. save you so much time but, 2. give you beautiful volume and style.

We, at Xanadu, follow Eufora’s pre-drying tips. Before turning the blow dryer on you want to make sure you are using the correct liquid tools for your hair. (See your stylist for your professional recommendation.) Next you want to section your hair and begin drying your roots.

***PRO TIP: dry your hair opposite of wear it lives for maximum volume!***

Once you feel like your roots are dry you can start focusing on your mid-shaft area. Again, we’re doing all of this without a brush so you can feel when it’s dry. If your hair feels cool, it’s still wet! To prevent frizz you want your root and mid-shaft to be 100% dry.

Now it’s time for a brush! You can use a paddle brush or a round brush to finish your style. This would be the time to use clips to get everything out of the way so you can start at your nape and work your way up.

Once everything feels dry, TADA!, you’re done! This may take a little longer than just flipping your head over but it gives you more control, more manageability, and a longer lasting style.  If you need any help come see us at either Xanadu location and we would be more than willing to help you. We give complimentary Blow Dry Lessons!

XOXO, The Xanacrew
